FAQ

How much is the SuRIA Home rebate?+
RM600 for every 1 kWac of solar you install, up to a maximum of RM3,000 (equivalent to a 5 kWac system).
Who qualifies?+
Malaysian citizens with a domestic low-voltage (LV) TNB account who install a qualifying Solar ATAP system and have not previously received a solar rebate or assistance. One claim per person.
When can I claim, and what’s the deadline?+
Rebate claims open from 1 June 2026 on a first-come, first-served basis. Your Solar ATAP system must be installed and operating by 31 December 2026, or until the national 250MW quota is filled, whichever comes first.
How is the rebate paid?+
Once you qualify, you’re notified by email to register with TNB and provide your bank details. After TNB verifies, the rebate is paid directly into the bank account registered in the TNB account holder’s name.
Do I need a Solar ATAP system?+
Yes. The rebate applies only to solar PV installed under the Solar ATAP programme. ERS can handle your Solar ATAP application and installation, learn more at the Solar ATAP resource hub.
Who funds and runs SuRIA Home?+
It’s a Government of Malaysia programme under PETRA (the Ministry of Energy Transition and Water Transformation), with RM150 million allocated and administered together with TNB and SEDA. ERS is your appointed Solar ATAP installer. We never handle the rebate money.
